The residential project is a G + 3-storeyed building for multi-family living. The building is so oriented that the North and South sides are shared with the adjacent buildings. The East and the West sides are open looking towards parks on either side. The idea for the west façade was to curb the sunlight and heat while at the same time giving appropriate visual access to the green landscape in front. Exposed brickwork has been used as it is durable and has low maintenance qualities. It helps to keep the indoors cool during summers and traps heat during winters keeping the house at a suitable temperature throughout the year. The jalis allow the seasonal and micro-level wind movement into the house keeping it well-ventilated and helping to cut down on the direct sunlight thus helping the house to be cool throughout the summer months. These factors make it a sustainable material as it reduces the dependency on electronic coolers during the scorching summer months in Delhi, where maximum temperatures go up to 45 degrees Celsius and more.
