The New Parliament Building

The Central Vista Project is a visionary initiative redefining national identity and architectural heritage for the 21st century, with a focus on key elements: The Public Entrance, Courtyard Jalis, and Constitution Hall.

The Public Entrance offers a dignified, inviting gateway, symbolising both national pride and accessibility. The courtyard jalis combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design, regulating light and airflow while honouring historic Indian patterns.

The courtyard jalis were developed in collaboration with a Sanjhi artist, featuring intricate designs of India's native trees. These jalis merge traditional artistry with contemporary architecture, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow throughout the space.

In the Constitution Hall, the design maps the night sky as it appeared when the Constitution of India was written. A central pendulum and surrounding time bands on the floor reflect this historic moment, with engravings providing information about the hall and the significance of the Constitution.

Together, these elements reimagine engagement with cultural heritage and set a new standard for national architectural expression.
